Teatro Marco is a 60sqm Flexible Black Box located in No. 65 Maginhawa, Quezon City. We are the home for Fresh and Brave Filipino Indie Theatre.

We offer a space for rehearsals, shoots, and shows, exclusively reserved for members of the Kateatro Circle.

BASIC REHEARSAL: A room-only setup for table reads, blocking, and movement. Focus is on floor space and affordability.

Stage & Lighting

  • Theatrical Lights: 8 Stage PAR Lights (6 RGB for color / 2 COB for warm wash).
  • Control: 12-Button DMX Controller.
  • Staging: 4 pcs 4×4 Movable Platforms.

Sound System

  • Output: 2 High-Power 12-Inch 2-Way Speakers + Dedicated Subwoofer.
  • Input: 2 Wireless Microphones + 1 Wired Microphone.
  • Control: 8-Channel Audio Mixer for live sound balancing.

Front of House

  • Lobby Access: Use of the Lobby area for ticket selling and FOH setup.
  • Comms: Radio System for coordination.

Audience & Utilities

  • Seating: Professional seating for up to 60 audience members.
  • Production Tools: Whiteboard with markers, Water Dispenser, Smart TV with Stand, and Unlimited Wi-Fi.
  • Staff Support: On-site Tech Assistant included to manage house equipment.

Rules & Limits

  • Add-on: Projector available for ₱500 flat fee.
  • The Gear Policy: Partners must declare all additional gear in their Production Brief. We reserve the right to deny the use of high-wattage equipment that exceeds our electrical capacity or poses a fire risk.

POLICIES & FEES

  • Midnight Surcharge: 11 PM – 3 AM incurs the Hourly Rate + ₱1,000 Flat Fee.
  • Cleaning Fee: ₱200 standard (₱800 surcharge for glitter, confetti, or heavy mess).
  • Security Deposit: ₱1,000 — Refundable via GCash within 24 hours post-inspection.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Can we bring food and drinks?

Light snacks and bottled water are allowed. However, full meals and catered food are strictly prohibited inside the studio to protect the flooring and equipment. For full-day bookings, we recommend nearby Maginhawa cafes for your meal breaks.

Do you provide drinking water?

Yes, we provide a bottom-load water dispenser. To help us stay eco-friendly, please bring your own reusable bottles or cups.

Can we move the furniture?

Yes, you may rearrange the chairs and tables to suit your rehearsal. However, all furniture must be returned to its original position before your booking ends. Dragging heavy items across the floor is strictly prohibited.

Is the studio soundproof?

The studio is sound-treated (to reduce echo) but not 100% soundproof from outside street noise. It is suitable for rehearsals and video content, but professional music recording may require post-production noise reduction.

Can we use the Smart TV for presentations?

Yes. The Android Smart TV has HDMI ports and screen-sharing. Please bring your own adapters (dongles) to ensure compatibility.

Can we bring our own projector or lighting gear for a Rehearsal or Studio Event?

No. To ensure electrical safety and maintain our tier structure, outside technical equipment (projectors, stage lights, fog machines, etc.) is not permitted. For specialized technical gear, you must book the Performance Residency.

What happens if we are caught using unauthorized equipment?

Our staff will ask you to immediately disconnect the gear. A ₱1,000 Technical Violation Fee will be deducted from your security deposit to cover unauthorized electrical load and risk.

What happens if we break something?

The security deposit covers minor damages. For major damage to technical equipment (mics, speakers, TV, or lighting), the hirer will be liable for the full repair or replacement cost.

Is there parking available?

Limited street parking is available. We highly recommend carpooling or using ride-sharing services (Grab/Joyride), especially during weekends when Maginhawa is high-traffic.

Can we leave our set pieces or props overnight?

Small props may be left in the designated backstage area for free (subject to space availability). However, any large set pieces left on the main studio floor that obstruct subsequent bookings will incur a ₱500/night Storage Fee. Teatro Marco is not liable for items left unattended.

What counts as a “Heavy Mess” for the ₱800 surcharge?

Anything requiring more than a standard sweep/mop, including: scattered glitter or confetti, food stains, unbagged trash left outside bins, or heavy mud/dirt tracked in.

Can we extend our time if we are not finished?

Extensions are subject to availability. If there is no booking after yours, you may extend at the standard hourly rate.
